Summer

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH..."

"AaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAH..."

"Oh my god just shut up please guys!" Jon shouted angrily from his place sprawled on the couch.

The three boys surrounding the fan turned and smiled sheepishly at the bespectacled boy, and they scooted away from the fan that was endlessly buzzing in a vain attempt to keep the house cool in the intense summer heat. Emile, Tyler, and Josh had happily stationed themselves right in front of the fan, creating the strange noise that had been filling the house until Jon finally got fed up with their shit. They weren't letting the living room get cooled down at all, and beads of sweat were pouring down his face, and his shirt was sticking to his body. Tim oddly enough, seemed to be completely unfazed by the heat, and he just sat there eating a Popsicle watching the younger members of the group as they started to scoot back towards the fan, with their intention clear on their faces.

"Do you think the rest of the group will still want to go out and about today?" Tim asked, raising an eyebrow as the three younger boys started making noise again by the fan.

"Who knows... It's hot as fuck outside anyways. We'd probably end up huddling inside one of their air conditioned house. Not like our piss poor houses out here in hick land." Josh said turning away from the fan momentarily. "If they actually come to pick us up then they're probably insane--"

"HEY GUYS OPEN THE DOOR!" They heard the familiar voice of Reese screaming at the top of her lungs.

Jon fumbled and fell off the couch as he tried to stand up to go open the door, and as he walked towards the front door he was muttering. "You could have just knocked y'know..."

He quickly unlocked the door, and Reese burst in with excitement. "So! You guys ready for a fun filled day of traveling around the city!" She held her arms in the air.

"No but I am prepared for a horrible filled day of burning in the sunlight." Jon drawled as he unstuck his shirt from his chest. "I wouldn't be surprised if we all end up suffering from heatstroke."

"Come on! You guys are the country bumpkins, you guys are supposed to be tougher than us!" Patrick wacked Jon on the back.

"Yeah...When we're working. Which we're not. I can complain all I want."

They ignored what Jon had said and pushed them along to get dressed in clothes that weren't dressed in sweat. Soon enough they were walking along the bustling streets of the city, peering into stores that sold various objects and clothing. Even the braver members of the group weren't able to resist the heat, and they were soon all covered in a sheen of sweat. Even the headstrong Reese was feeling the effects, and there weren't that many people on the streets anymore. Most of them had quickly gone into stores or their homes to avoid the heat. There was the few people who were still scurrying towards homes or stores.

"I am deciding that this was a crap idea Reese." Donna mumbled, as she stumbled forward onto Tyler. "Carry me!"

Tyler almost fell forward. "I can't! You're too heavy!"

"...Are you calling me fat?"

"W-what? No girl! I wouldn't do that!" Tyler stuttered, trying to save himself.

They had arrived at the central park and Donna and Tyler had quickly forgiven each other after a bout of 'guuuuuuurl' and other nonsense, and they had sat down at the edge of a fountain that was happily bubbling up jets of water. Children were all around sticking their hands into the cool water and splashing each other with it. Jake had laid down on the edge of the fountain in exhaustion, with the rest surrounding him trying to figure out what they could possibly do for the rest of the day.

"Okay...We could either go into the mall and do some shopping or go to my house and play video games." Reese said looking at the rest, "And I already have a pretty good idea what you guys are going to choose."

Emile lifted up a tired arm and weakly shouted. "Video gaaaaaaames!" He let his arm flop back next to him.

They had all agreed happily, and very quickly. Yet they were all still just sitting there on the hot pavement next to the fountain listening to the loud shrill voices of children, who all seemed to be perfectly immune to the blistering heat surrounding them. Patrick was sitting in front of Jake, who seemed almost asleep on the edge of the fountain. He was messing with Jake's watch, before removing it completely from his wrist. Emile watched with curiosity as Patrick removed things from the other boy's pockets and set them in a pile on the ground.

And as quickly as he could, Patrick gave a hard shove and threw Jake into the fountain.

The other boy immediately woke up from his doze and spluttered as he flailed in the water, effectively getting anyone near the fountain wet. Many of the children were now shrieking with laughter at the strange teen in the fountain, and Tyler and Josh quickly joined in. They were happy for an excuse to get rid of all the damned heat.

"WE'RE A SWIM TEAM LOOK JOSH!" Tyler shouted, as he tried to paddle around the foot deep water.

"That's...No." Josh was just sitting comfortably in the water, as if he were in a pool.

Jake was now standing, water dripping off of him. He seemed to have a look of both amusement and anger evident on his face, and he was looking straight at Patrick who was trying to look as innocent as he possibly could. Jake carefully stepped out of the fountain with an eerily blank look on his face, and he was walking slowly towards Patrick. He only stopped until they were nearly nose to nose. Water was dripping onto Patrick's own sweat drenched clothes, and he smiled hastily.

"So...How has your day been?" He asked, trying to act casually.

"Great. You know. I found this great new thing that friends do to each other." Jake said, grabbing Patrick's wrist and dragging him towards the edge of the fountain.

Josh quickly moved to the other side, avoiding what he knew was going to happen.

"Oh...Oh really?" Patrick stuttered slightly.

The rest of the group had their cameras out.

"It's called, "Let's fucking push them into a fountain to be an ass."" And with that, Jake shoved the other man straight into the fountain.

Water sloshed out, successfully drenching Emile who had still been sitting next to the fountain. He giggled loudly, as the cool liquid hit him, because it was a hot day of course. Patrick just sloshed around the water, not seeming as scared as he was before. They were all laughing loudly at the antics, not noticing that all the families and children had all left from the crazy teens that were playing in the fountain. The joy didn't last long, because soon a police officer came, giving them a warning not to do it again. They all quickly retreated to Reese's house, where they all dried off and basked in the air conditioned house.

"That...Was worth it." Was all Patrick said.

And it was true.
Here's summer!

Why were they in front of the fan... It reminds me of Konata from Lucky Star. Even living in Hawaii, I don't do that! (And no AC BTW)
